Inauguration of the new Audiovisual Lab at Royal Thimphu College, Bhutan
We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in Bhutanese Higher Education Institution (HEI) at Royal Thimphu College (RTC), Thimphu, Bhutan. This groundbreaking initiative promises to revolutionise Qualitative Research Methodologies (QRM) and foster innovation and creativity by seamlessly integrating multimedia into educational frameworks through the Audiovisual Studio which was inaugurated on March 8, 2024.
The studio, a cornerstone of the ‘HAPPY’ project, will be efficiently utilized for teaching-learning purposes within the RTC community. Serving as a dynamic hub to raise awareness among HEI stakeholders about the transformative potential of QRM in academic settings and sustainable development initiatives, it will also function as a resource centre to promote QRM’s potential in academic and sustainable development. It aims to foster innovation and creativity by seamlessly integrating multimedia into educational frameworks. Additionally, it aims to modernize curricula and supervision methods to effectively incorporate QRM, ensuring graduates possess adaptable skills aligned with societal and labour market demands.
This studio is a part of the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) Project known as ‘HAPPY’, derived from its project title, Qualitative Research in Higher Education Teaching APProaches for sustainabilitY and well-being in Bhutan. The project aims to enhance qualitative research methodology (QRM) by introducing innovative pedagogical approaches to contribute to sustainable development across various sectors, including the state, civil society, business, and local communities. It addresses challenges such as rapid social change, cultural preservation and promotion, and climate change. Project ‘HAPPY’ aims to revolutionise qualitative research by introducing innovative pedagogical approaches to foster sustainable development across diverse sectors.
